Features for Employees

GTimeReport has two base features for employees. First and foremost it's the fastest way of creating a time report you'll ever find. Secondly, it can help you getting an overview of the current work hours you have put in this month.

Creating time reports efficiently

Set up a separate calendar in Google Calendar for time reporting. By using a separate calendar there's no risk that you mix up planned events with performed work.
Fill in this calendar every day. Even better if you work with a computer, keep a browser tab open and fill in the hours during the day. If you are traveling, you can use your Android phone or iPhone to keep your calendar updated.

When it's time to hand in your time report, login to www.gtimereport.com and select the calendar you use for time reporting. Make sure the period is correct, and click Create Report. The reported hours will be shown right below the button you just pressed.
Make sure the time zone offset matches the one you use in your calendar, and verify this by checking that the start times on your events are correct.
The web site tries to guess your locale settings for date and time formatting, but if you want to you can change them using the locale dropdown.

When you find that you are satisfied with your report, press the appropriate button for getting the report in Excel format or to Google spreadsheets. If you want to print the report, you can use the create report to new window button, which gives you a clean report for printing.

Keeping track of current work hours

Since you are by now convinced, that you should fill in your spent work hours, every day, in your separate time reporting Google Calendar, you already have done enough reporting to get reports on your worked hours, anytime.

Just login, and press the Create report button.

The first seven days every month, the period selector is in report mode, which means it defaults to the last month. After that, it switches to tracking mode and always defaults to from the first the current month and to today.
This means that usually all you need is to login, select calendar(s) and press Create report to give you the full overview of the current work.
Of course, you can always select any period you like!
